The village of Alaró is located 26 Kms. away from Palma de Mallorca, about 20 minutes on the highway. Known as “the Mediterranean Switzerland”, Alaró peacefully lies under the “Tramuntana” mountains, in a valley surrounded by two majestic mountains, probably the most famous of the island.

Carritx Restaurant is in the centre of the village. It’s an old house where a small restaurant has been set up, both maintaining the original character of the building and adding all the appealing elements of modern life. Its terrace is especially attractive on sunny days which amount to about 300 per year on this island.

The structure and construction of these houses transmit a feeling of peace and the fresh Mediterranean night breezes maintain the guests round the table until late during the lively summer nights.

The Manager, Maribel, is there by vocation. Her weekly show, on the Tramuntana TV, is a good proof of her know-how, in spite of the fact that it has never been her true professional activity. She switched a quiet office for the kitchen.

The menu is not very large, which is quite logical when wanting a well-cared for cuisine, but the products are first quality, and the affection and know-how make visitors leave satisfied.The quality-price relationship is very good, and exceptional for the wines.
